DEPOK – On Wednesday (10/7), Prof. Alexander Loch from University of Applied Science Ludswigburg shared his insighftul knowledge regarding the cross-cultural-comparison in business behavior. Muthia Pramesti, S.E., M.M from Universitas Indonesia delivered the opening remarks as well as moderate the whole online session that was attended by around 390 participants.

Prof. Alex started the session by noting the differences between cultures and stereotypes and how it varies across countries or even within country. He mentioned that no one have a similar way of life, and that there will always be that one skill and mindset that is relatively more effective, but not more superior to the other.

Lastly, he took example of countries such as Germany and Indonesia, and how the two nations have different cultures namely in the terms of power, individualism, masculinity, uncertainty avoidance, and indulgence using the Hofstede’s Country Comparison Insights. He closed the webinar by saying that it was very important to understand cross cultural literacy and applied it in the business world. (hjtp)
